Got a couple days behind on posting. I'll try to catch up.
We got out of Shreveport with the winnings and headed for Tyler TX. It was the shortest leg so far. We found Walt, another brother, doing his yard work. (Burning trash out back) After having dinner we spent the rest of the evening reliving old times at home. When the dinner kicked in, we decided it was bedtime. We had planned on leaving for Dallas early the next morning, but you would have thought we were on vacation, we overslept. The weather wasn't bad and Walt was going to go to Dallas with us, so he and Jerry got in his car and tried to lose me. They should have known I had my GPS with me so I got to our destination as soon as they did. Stopped at Gregs (One of Walts sons) in Galand Tx. Mark, another son of Walts dropped in and we spent a little time with him before heading to Toms, a brother, in Richardson, Tx. Here we unloaded on him and spent three nights. There, we did some sight seeing. Got to tour the new Cowboy Stadium. That is a sight to see. Sorry to say, it rained on our parade. Had to cut our touring short. Spent the time visiting at Toms. Got up this morning to freezing temps. Went out to load the car and all four doors were frozen shut. That delayed our departure a little, but we got on the road about 7:00 AM., headed west. Our plans were to try and make it to El Paso (640 miles). Things were going so good when we got there, we just kept going. We are now in Las Cruces, NM. This is Sat. the 30th of Jan. We are planning on leaving early in the morning and head for Phoenix, AZ with a short stop at the Pima Museum in Tuscan, AZ. Hope to have a few pictures for the entry tomorrow.
